Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the Northway Golf mobile application (the "App") and the www.northway-tech.com website (the "Website"), operated by Northway Technologies Incorporated, a Corporation formed in Nevada, United States ("us," "we," "our"), as this Privacy Policy contains important information regarding your privacy and how we may use the information we collect about you.

Your access to or use of the App and Website is conditional upon your acceptance of and compliance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to everyone, including but not limited to visitors, users, and others, who wish to access or use the App or Website.

By accessing or using the App or Website, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you do not have our permission to access or use the App or Website.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information when you create an account or use the App:

Account Information

Email address — for account login, password recovery, and transactional notifications
Username — your chosen display name, visible to other users on leaderboards and in rounds
Password — stored in hashed (encrypted) form; we cannot see your password

Profile Information

Date of birth — required for age verification and golf club range calculations
Sex and height — used for personalized golf club range calculations
Profile photo — optional, displayed to other users
First and last name — optional, used for display purposes

Gameplay Information

GPS location — used during active golf rounds for shot tracking, distance calculations, and course navigation. Location data from completed rounds is associated with course and hole data.
Golf scores and statistics — your round scores, shot data, and performance metrics
Voice data — if you use the voice assistant feature, audio is processed for golf-related commands. Voice conversation transcripts may be stored on our servers.

Device Information

Device identifiers — for push notifications and app functionality
App version and platform — for compatibility and support purposes
IP address — collected automatically for security and analytics

Payment Information

In-app purchases — processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Play Store), or Stripe (web store). We do not store your credit card numbers. We receive transaction confirmations and subscription status from these processors.

We use your information to:

Provide and improve the Northway Golf app experience
Calculate personalized golf club ranges based on your physical attributes
Display your username and profile on leaderboards (you can opt out)
Send push notifications about your golf rounds and account

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Northway Golf is designed for golfers of all ages. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) for users under 13 years of age.

For users under 13:

We require verifiable parental consent before creating an account. A parent or guardian must approve account creation via email verification.
We collect only the minimum information necessary: email, username, date of birth, sex, and height.
GPS location data is used only during active gameplay.
Child accounts cannot: write course reviews, add friends, follow other users, share rounds, make in-app purchases, or post content.
Child profiles are set to private by default and are excluded from leaderboards.
We do not serve behavioral advertising to children.
We do not share children's personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Parental Rights:

You may review your child's personal information at any time by emailing support@northway-tech.com.
You may request deletion of your child's data at any time.
You may revoke consent at any time, which will disable the child's account and delete their data within 48 hours.
You may opt your child out of future data collection.

For users 13–17:

Privacy settings default to higher protection levels.
Full app features are available.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with the following categories of service providers, solely to operate the App:

Cloud hosting — Amazon Web Services (AWS) for servers, storage, and email delivery
Database — MongoDB Atlas for data storage
Analytics — Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for app performance monitoring and crash reporting
Payment processing — Stripe (web purchases), Apple (iOS purchases), Google (Android purchases)
AI services — Anthropic (voice assistant intelligence), Deepgram and ElevenLabs (voice processing)
Weather data — Tomorrow.io for golf course weather conditions
Maps — Google Maps for course navigation
Golf handicap — USGA/GHIN for handicap index verification (only if you link your GHIN account)

We require all service providers to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. User-Generated Content

The App allows users (age 13+) to:

Write course reviews with text and media (photos/videos)
Share golf rounds with other users (opt-in, default off)
Upload profile photos

User-generated content may be visible to other App users. You can hide or delete your content at any time. Other users can report inappropriate content using the in-app reporting feature.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
Child account data will be deleted within 48 hours of a parent revoking consent.
Pending signup data (for accounts awaiting parental consent) expires automatically after 72 hours.
We retain consent records for a minimum of 3 years after account deletion for legal compliance.

7. Data Security

We protect your data using industry-standard security measures:

Encrypted storage for authentication tokens (device keychain/keystore)
HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmission
Hashed passwords (bcrypt) — we never store plaintext passwords
Rate limiting on authentication endpoints to prevent brute-force attacks
Security headers (HSTS, X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options)
JWT-based authentication with short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens

10. Cookies

Our Website may use cookies for analytics and functionality purposes. The mobile App does not use browser cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

The App uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect anonymized usage data and crash reports. This helps us improve app performance and fix issues. For child accounts, we minimize analytics collection to essential crash reporting only.

12. Third-Party Websites

The App and Website may contain links to websites operated by parties other than us. We do not control such websites and are not responsible for their contents or privacy practices. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

13. Do Not Track

We honor Do Not Track ("DNT") browser signals. When we detect a DNT signal, we limit non-essential tracking.

14. California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
